Bloomfield Hills Marian players and coaches pose with their CHSL championship trophy on Monday.

   Bloomfield Hills Marian won its third straight Catholic High School League Field Hockey Championship, beating Bloomfield Hills Cranbrook Kingswood 2-0 on Monday, Oct. 15, at Bloomfield Hills Brother Rice.

   Marian junior Kate Hughes broke a scoreless tie with 18:55 left in the second half.

   Junior Kate Biglin scored Marian’s second goal less than a minute later.

   Sophomore Claire Murphy and junior Adriana Lulgjuraj spilt the victory

 

 

 

 

 in goal for the Mustangs.

   Marian beat Farmington Hills Mercy 7-0 and Cranbrook downed Grosse Pointe Woods University Liggett 1-0 in a shootout in the semifinals on Oct. 3.

   Both teams now enter the Michigan High School Field Hockey Association playoffs. Marian hosts Hartland and Cranbrook travels to Detroit Country Day on Thursday, Oct. 18.
