   Division 2 No. 2-ranked Pontiac Notre Dame Preparatory went 6-0 on Saturday, Aug. 28, to win the Mt. Morris Tournament. Notre Dame beat Wixom St. Catherine of Siena 2-0 (25-12, 25-19) in the championship game.

   It was the Irish’s second tournament victory of the season. Notre Dame is 15-0.

   Notre Dame defeated Mason 2-0 (25-16, 25-12) to advance to the final. St. Catherine beat host Mt. Morris to reach the title game.

   Notre Dame downed Allen Park Cabrini 2-0 (25-12, 25-11) in the quarterfinals and defeated Birmingham Roeper, Cabrini and Mason in pool play.

 

   Marshall-bound senior Bianca Giglio had a team high 36 kills. Ole Miss-bound senior Aly Borellis collected 35 kills, scored 19 points, and had 43 assists. Virginia Tech-commit senior Josie Bloom lead the Irish in digs and service receptions, had a handful of kills, and scored 23 points with 10 aces.

   Senior Abby Nellis had her best day in an Irish uniform, collecting 31 kills and a team-leading nine blocks.

    Senior Sophia Sudzina added 18 kills. Junior Grace Winaas scored 24 points from the service line including  17 aces to go with her 13 kills. Junior Margo Sudzina dished out a team high 54 assists and scored 19 points, including five aces. Junior Ally Berent scored a team high 47 points with 17 aces and made some point-saving defensive plays
